AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Finally Surfaces
AMD's Phenom II X4 955 is retailing in Hong Kong at £190The Black Edition of AMD’s Phenom II X4 955 processor has finally been found and confirmed; it is available with retailers in Hong Kong. According to a report on Techpowerup, the chip can be purchased for £190.
Rumours about AMD’s Phenom X4 955 have been making the rounds for several days, with a number of reports circulating the internet. The chip allegedly surfaced on the website of a US etailer with a price tag of $325, though the same was never verified.
The report from Techpowerup confirms that the Black Edition of the X4 995 is retailing in Hong Kong. Considering VAT, this should put the UK price of the X4 995 in the region of £220, just below that of Intel’s Core i7 920. The price should be a fair estimate keeping in mind that AMD’s AM2+ Phenom II X4 920 and AM2+ X4 940 retail at £150 and £182 respectively.
According to information on the box (shown in the image courtesy of Techpowerup), the AMD X4 955 is clocked at 3.20GHz, but can be reportedly overclocked to 4GHz without much difficulty. It has a cache of 8MB (2MB L2, 6MB L3), runs off the AM3 socket and provides both DDR2 and DDR3 support.
It now remains to be seen what price the 955 actually debuts at in the UK and whether it can provide competition to Intel’s i7 or the latter manages to prevail in the post £200 domain.

You get two stickers with name and number to put on your case and monitor. If you don't have the corresponding card you can't get out with them.

Aside from that there's - a bit of - surveillance and luggage checks at the entrance/exit.
