Overclockers reach world record Skylake Overclocking speeds

The Overclockers Dancop and Der8auer have both reached world record speeds for Skylake overclocking, achieving over 7GHz on an ASUS Maximus VIII Gene motherboard.

The overclockers reached a final speed of 7007.85MHz, which is the highest clock ever achieved on an Maximus VIII Gene. The overclock validation/ submission can be found here.

Alongside this amazing 7GHz overclock Dancop was also able to achieve 4 world records and a global first place in several benchmarks while using ASUS’ Maximus VIII Extreme motherboard. Below are the world records and their submission links.

SuperPi – 32M – 4min 28sec [email protected] 6,837.42MHz (+70.94%) with Intel Core i7-6700K on Maximus VIII Extreme

Unigine Heaven 2xGPU – 10149.28 DX11 Marks @ 6,706.33MHz (+67.66%) with Intel Core i7 6700K on Maximus VIII Extreme

3DMark2001SE 1xGPU – 202510 marks @ 6,785MHz (+69.62%) with Intel Core i7-6700K on Maximus VIII Extreme

3DMark05 1xGPU – 82936 marks @ 6,728.9MHz (+68.22%) with Intel Core i7-6700K on Maximus VIII Extreme

3DMark05 2xGPU – 81333 marks @ 6,682.21MHz (+67.06%) with Intel Core i7-6700K on Maximus VIII Extreme

To achieve these amazing scores in these benchmarks a lot of speed binning was required to find a “golden” CPU and all these chips needed to be cooled to -190 degrees Celsius using liquid nitrogen, meaning that none of these score can be easily achieved.
