Low Profile Dual Port Gigabit Network Server Adapter NIC Card

This new handy bit of kit allows the possibility to upgrade and/or expand the network capability's of machines to take advantage of high speed networking in the home or small office.

The Dual Port PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Network Server Adaptor Card (ST1000SPEXD2) Provides two 10/100/1000 Mbps capable Ethernet ports and is fully compatible with IEEE 802.3/u/ab standards.

This is a high performance part from the makers StarTech.com which is capable of a blistering 1000Mbps in each direction (2000Mbps total) which can be up to 10 times faster than some older devices which use 10/1000 Ethernet.

This device is perfect if you do things like shifting a large amount of data over a network or even if you want to seamlessly stream HD media across your home network without causing other users to be slowed or interrupted.

To take full advantage of this device you would need to have other equipment such as gigabit switches which are readily available at fairly low costs these days, this device also allows for the upgrade of your entire network without having to swap out hardware such as motherboards in older machines which don't have 1000Mbps capability's on board.

Included with the card is a full and low profile installation bracket so that it can be mounted in smaller systems aswell as your standard size cases
