Silverstone introduce their new FG series of RGB fan mounts/grills

Silverstone has now unveiled their new FG series of RGB fan mounts/grills, which can be used to add RGB lighting to any 120mm or 140mm fan through the use of a 4-pin RGB LED control input. This allows these new LED units to be used with any motherboard or RGB lighting unit that uses a 4-pin RGB header for lighting control.

These units will be available in two different versions, the 120mm compatible FG121 the 140mm compatible FG141. The 120mm version will use 24 RGB LEDs and the 140mm version will use 28 LEDs, with these units being attachable to both empty fan slots or directly to your system's fans.

Right now, pricing and release info on these new RGB fan grills are not available, though they will be much cheaper to purchase than new RGB Fans. This will be a great option for those that want RGB illumination but don't want to buy new fans.

If I was much into modding I think I'd cut out the grill section (if possible) and use them solely as a kind of halo around the fan.
However, looking at them on their site they're around 6mm thick which is far too much IMO.Quote
