Adobe Ships Creative Suite 3

Adobe has begun shipping the new CS3 versions of its creativity tools as well as the standard and premium versions of its recently announced Creative Suite 3.
| The company now offers a total of eight new programs including Photoshop CS3, Photoshop CS3 Extended, InDesign CS3, Illustrator CS3, Flash CS3 Professional, Dreamweaver CS3, Adobe Fireworks CS3 and Contribute CS3 for both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs as well as Windows-based PCs.
As before, Adobe is offering the software individually or in bundles. The bundles start at $1000 for the Web Standard version, which comes with Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Contribute. The Premium version adds Photoshop Extended, Illustrator and Acrobat and rings in at $1600. Geared more towards offline publishing, the design suites are priced at $1200 (standard) and $1800 (premium). Not available so far are the CS3 versions of After Effects, Soundbooth and Encore, which will be offered in the “Production†and Master Collection†packages in the third quarter of this year. The video editing tool Premiere CS3 is available as a standalone program for $800. Individual versions of Photoshop CS3 are priced at $650 (Standard) and $1000 (Extended). |
