Destiny 2's PC release date has been revealed

Activision has revealed Destiny 2's release date on PC, confirming that it will be after the game's initial release on consoles.

On PS4 and Xbox One the game will release on September 6th, whereas on PC the game will release on October 24th, giving PC gamers an extra month to read early reviews for the console versions and benefit from any other improvements that are made to the game during its launch window on consoles.

Bungie promises to deliver PC gamers an optimised version of the game, complete with support for 4K resolutions, unlocked framerates, Field of View (FoV) options and a wide range of other graphical settings. PC will be the only place where solid 60FPS gameplay will be possible in Destiny 2.

Welcome to a world without Light. Led by the invading Dominus Ghaul, the Red Legion’s brutal attack on humanity’s Last City has left Guardians powerless and scattered. Now, in our darkest hour, new legends must rise to challenge Ghaul and take back our Light.

If you are a fan of steady 60FPS gameplay, PC will be your platform of choice for Destiny 2, though you will have to wait a while longer before you can get started with Bungie's latest MMO-style FPS.

I haven't heard anything solid, and its ubisoft so you honestly don't know.... , but xbox one and pc MIGHT be shared saves. Really depends on if MS decided to do that for this game since MS has no real dev work in it so its not a MS developed game so shouldn't be considered xbox anywhere....

In short - probably not :/Quote

Doesn't have to be first party to be play anywhere, but I'm still assuming they won't bother. If they have a Steam/Uplay and W10 version they most likely won't matchmake together and they probably won't allow PC and Xbox to play together so it would be a very small online space, similar to what happened with the recent CoD.Quote

Why always a month later?? To consolidate the console monkeys? It genuinely annoys me. (Sorry)Quote

Because it's easier to optimise and focus on 2 consoles than to consider every variation of PC hardware and compat testing. Some optimisations will benefit the PC so it makes sense.Quote
