Gamers in Europe will soon be facing higher prices for their PlayStation Plus Subscription, with the yearly rate increasing from £39.99 to £49.99 (€59.99) in the UK, a 25% increase.

This was officially revealed when Sony, sent the following email to their users this morning, which states that the annual fee for PlayStation Plus will rise from £39.99 to £49.99, the quarterly fee will increase from £14.99 to £19.99 and the monthly fee will increase from £5.99 to £6.99.

This price increase will apply automatically after August 31st, which means that those who are renewing their subscription after that date will be charged more. To avoid additional costs we advise PS Plus users to turn off their Autorenew settings and purchase their next yearly sub online at today’s standard price.

Sony has not given a written reason for this price change, but given the fact that this change is applied to all PAL regions it is unlikely that Brexit was the only factor that is responsible for this change.
