Game publisher Square Enix today announced the official release date of the successful franchise Dungeon Siege 3. The first version to be published from the Square Enix stable, Dungeon Siege 3 will be reaching retail shelves at the end of May.
Originally developed by Gas Powered Games and published by Microsoft, Dungeon Siege has enjoyed good success and has its fan following worldwide. The game was converted in a film by Uwe Boll, which unfortunately bombed. Now Square Enix has picked up the reins and is all set to come out with the third game of the series.
The new version has been developed by Obsidian Entertainment and takes this classic action RPG game one step ahead. Dungeon Siege 3 will become available on all platforms including high-definition home video game consoles, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox simultaneously. The third game of the series will see players take on the role of one of four heroes to fight for comrades who have fallen to restore the land of Ehb.
According to Square Enix, Dungeon Siege 3 will keep gamers constantly engaged with conflict and force them to take decisions that will have lasting consequences. Players will be in a position to alter the storyline through their decisions. The co-op multiplayer mode of the game also allows players to join or leave the game even at any stage without any visible effect on the campaign.
The official release date for Dungeon Siege 3 for Europe is set for 27 May, while US stores will receive the first copies of the game on 31 May. Pricing details have not been revealed.
