Raijintek Asterion Review

Introduction

as you can imagine many 100s, if not 1000s of pieces of kit come through our hands each year here at OC3D.  For the most part many components are much like their competitive counterparts, perhaps with a small tweak in performance or a slightly different aesthetic.  It is then, a very rare occurrence for us to have our collective breath taken away when we open a box up and gaze upon the contents there-in.  Ladies, in all honesty, For the greater part when writing we use the collective "we" to describe our thoughts, however for this I must slip into the first person tense, for when when I opened up the box and extracted the Raijintek Asterion Plus from it's foam and polythene cocoon I actually caught myself emitting a little whimper. "Ohhhh god, that's nice" I said to myself out loud, for there was nobody else in the room.  Like most things of beauty, I felt obliged to sit and stare at it for a few moments before I could shake myself awake and crack on with the job in hand.  But what if it's just a pretty face?  What if it has a fantastic aesthetic and is actually a steaming pile of dog doo?  Well with our hearts in our collective hands, best we find out.

I have to agree that is a rather pretty case.

Hear hear. Nice review Gary.

I was bowled over by my Metis for the money it cost. I loved how everything was perfectly symmetrical too so you could orientate it however you wished (inverted, window right or left etc) it really was awesome. And I also loved how it pretty much stripped down into nothing too. No rivets in sight and every single last panel was separate.

The front panel on it is amazing too. 5mm alu IIRC. Sod to cut into though !Quote

Really nice. I wonder if they'll be released in a range of colours like their smaller ones were? The black and the plain Aluminium would look nice but they did a really nice blue in the Metis.Quote

this is probably the first thing Raijintek have releases that hasn't had the "meh" factor. most of their stuff has looked cheap, tacky or a rip off but this is quite a nice looking case.
When is Tom going to give you a GPU upgrade for your reviews? Quote
