Intel Xeon E5-2697v2 Review

Passmark 7.0

Passmark beautifully demonstrates the performance and drawbacks of the E5-2697v2, with some huge scores from the CPU based tests, and unquestionably poor ones from the Memory results. The 2697v2 still wins out in the end though.

My dangly bits tingled during the Cinebench run
Highest score i've had on my 2500k is about 7.9 and that took a good 30secs, maybe more to complete the render test.

I would love to have two of these Xeons but 1. I can't afford them and 2. I have no use for them anyway, so it would be a waste.
I still want them though!! Quote

I would love to see you guys putting Ubuntu on this rig and running The Phoronix Test Suite. Get all of those cores up and running. Running a desktop OS on this rig may be selling it short.

Thinking about it the test suite is something you guys might want to look into as it can running on Windows and automates benchmarks and might become a tool that could be used across the board.Quote
