Sonic Mania no longer requires an internet connection to play on PC
Sonic Mania launched on PC with an unfortunate bug, which prevented the game from being played without an Internet connection, an extremely annoying requirement given this game’s lack of online specific content.
Sega has stated that this issue was not caused by the game’s Denuvo DRM, saying that it was due to an issue with the game’s code and that it has now been corrected by the game’s development team.

Now Sonic fans can enjoy Sonic Mania without the need for an Internet connection, allowing PC fans to more easily play one of the best games that the Sonic series has produced in recent years.
