EA adds new features to their Origin game client
This update will also add an in-game FPS counter to Origin games, eliminating the need for tools like MSI Afterburner or FRAPs to measure your in-game framerate, though sadly there are no other options available to measure other in-game statistics.
The video above will show users how to limit Origin’s download speeds, with options between unlimited, 500MB/s and 48KB/s. The video below will also show you have to use Origin’s new Cross-game party invites.
These new options will only be available in Origin’s latest Client beta, which can be downloaded using the following method.
1. Enable the Origin Beta via Origin → Application Settings → Participate in Origin client betas. Make sure your friends also enabled the beta.
2. Receive a game invite from a friend, and click or press Y or N to accept or decline.
3. Once an invite has been accepted, Origin starts a countdown, giving you another chance to decline before Origin closes your current game.
4. Once the timer is finished, Origin will launch the new game to party up with your friend.
