Forza Motorsport 7’s install size is expected to be over 100GB on PC

It has been reported that Forza Motorsport 7 will be a 100GB download on Xbox One X, owing the large game size to 4K texture resolutions and other higher fidelity content. Right now the Windows 10 store offers an estimate that the game will have an approximate size of 99GB, corroborating this claim.

Turn 10 Studios has stated that the final download size of the game is not known at this time, but that developers are working to make sure that the digital download of the game is as small as possible.

It is likely that PC will have an even larger download size than the Xbox One X, given the need varying texture resolutions and optimisations to ensure that the game works on a wide range of hardware.

One option for Microsoft is to segment 4K textures into a free 4K Texture pack that will act as an optional download, giving PC gamers an opportunity to save storage space if they are not using high-resolution textures. This will be extremely useful for those who do not play games on high-resolution displays and have limited storage space and internet data caps.

Below are the full PC system requirements for Forza Motorsport 7, with the game’s developers recommending either a GTX 670 to a GTX 1050 Ti, which is significantly lower than the GTX 1060 and RX 480 that were recommended for Forza Horizons 3.

Forza Motorsport 7 will release on October 3rd on Xbox One and Windows 10, with the Xbox One X update releasing with the Xbox One X on November 7th.
