Microsoft reveals Halo Infinite and 343’s Slipspace Engine

Microsoft has announced Halo Infinite, the next entry into the Halo franchise, bringing Master Chief back to the forefront in 343 Industries new Slipspace engine. 

Sadly, Microsoft has not shown any gameplay for Halo Infinite or a firm release date, though below we can see 343’s engine tech demo, which showcases beautiful forested environments, highly detailed geometry and animals which inhabit the game;’s environment. This game is expected to follow the events of Halo 5, though this has not been confirmed.  

Microsoft says that 343 Industries plans to take the Halo franchise in “unexpected” directions, which hopefully doesn’t mean Battle Royale. 

The Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite – the next chapter of the legendary franchise. Developed by 343 Industries and created with our new Slipspace Engine. This thrilling engine demo provides a glimpse into the future of the Halo franchise, leading it into new and unexpected directions.

Microsoft has not revealed a release date for Halo Infinite at this time, though we will update this article if more information becomes available during Microsoft’s press conference. Halo Infinite is expected to release on PC and Xbox One as an Xbox Play Anywhere title.
