Intel Teases their Xe-HPG Gaming Graphics Card

On their @IntelGraphics Twitter account, Intel has started to tease their long-rumoured Xe HPG graphics architecture, the technology behind the company’s planned gaming-oriented discrete graphics cards.

If recent rumours are to be believed, Intel’s new Xe HPG (High Performance Gaming) graphics chip will reportedly deliver performance levels that in the same ballpark as AMD’s RX 6700 XT and Nvidia’s RTX 3070. This would be a huge deal for the PC gaming market, and any new graphics card with those performance levels are guaranteed to sell well in today’s market.

Hopefully, this teaser is a sign that Intel plans to officially reveal its first Xe HPG gaming graphics products soon, as today’s GPU market is in dire need of a new chip supplier.

Brining Intel into the Gaming GP market will give AMD and Nvidia new competition, heating up the discrete graphics market as well as the gaming notebook/laptop market. Having more competition is great for consumers, as it gives us all more hardware options and has the potential to put downward pressure on hardware prices.
