Intel boosts its Xeon W workstation CPU lineup with new W-3500 and W-2500 series CPUs
Intel has updated their Xeon Workstation CPU lineup with new Sapphire Rapids CPU models. These new Intel Xeon W-3500 and W-2500 series CPUs support existing W790 chipset motherboards. Additionally, these CPUs ship with more CPU cores and higher clock speeds than their predecessors.
With their new Xeon W-2500 range, Intel are offering users up to 26 CPU cores, 64 PCIe 5.0 lanes, and 4-channel DDR5 memory support. When compared to their W-2400 range, Intel are offering users more cores and/or higher clock speeds at every price range. With this range, Intel are offering users two more cores across their product stack.
For those who need higher core counts, there is Intel’s Xeon W-3500 range. This new range of CPUs feature up to 60 CPU cores, 112 PCIe 5,0 lanes, and 8-channel DDR5 memory support.
When compared to Intel’s Xeon W-3400 range, Intel are offering users 4-8 more CPU cores, and higher clock speeds with their new 3500-series CPUs.
Intel is targeting these new processors at users of the company’s older workstation CPUs, highlighting the benefits of the company’s latest processors. Features include support for more DRAM, PCIe 5.0 connectivity, and higher core counts. Additionally, Intel’s new CPUs also support features like 3rd generation Intel Deep Learning Boost.
Intel’s new Xeon CPUs are available to purchase starting today from industry partners. Intel’s new Xeon W range will see its prices start from $609 for the Xeon W3-2525 and scale to $5,889 for the Xeon W9-3595X.
