Intel Battlemage GPU spotted with 2.85 GHz Clock Speed – Huge Boost

Intel Battlemage Leak showcases 35% clock speed increase over ARC Alchemist

Intel is preparing to launch ARC Battlemage series graphics cards with their new Xe2 graphics architecture. Now, we have gotten our first glimpse of what appears to be a 12GB Battlemage GPU on Geekbench. This CPU reportedly features 20 Xe2 cores. Furthermore, this Intel Battlemage GPU features a 2.85 GHz clock speed.

Compared to Intel’s ARC Alchemist A770, which has a clock speed of 2.1 GHz, this new Battlemage CPU has clock speeds that are 35.7% faster. This leaked Intel Battlemage GPU offering is likely to be a lower-end Battlemage GPU model. After all, the Alchemist flagship, the A770 had 32 Xe cores and could feature 16GB of memory. With 20 Xe2 Cores and 12GB of memory, this GPU is likely a lower-end ARC Battlemage product from Intel.

Performance-wise, this leaked ARC Battlemage result is behind Intel’s ARC A770, which typically generates scores of around 110,000 in this OpenCL benchmark. With a score of 97943, Intel’s new ARC Battlemage GPU isn’t hugely impressive. That said, the ARC A770 has many more compute units, and OpenCL performance isn’t that important for gaming workloads.

If Intel can generate near-A770 performance with a lower-end ARC Battlemage product, it will be interesting to see how their higher-end Battlemage products perform. Is Intel going to change the low-end/mid-range GPU market with Battlemage? Let’s hope so!
