PC now accounts for 54% of Capcom game sales
PC sales see tremendous growth at Capcom, accounting for over 50% of sales in FY25
PC games now account for a majority of Capcom game sales, making PC (by far) the most popular gaming platform for the Japanese company. In their FY25 financial report, digital PC games accounted for 54% of game sales, with digital console game sales accounting for 40%.
Since FY20, Capcom’s PC sales share has increased from 32% to 54%. In contrast, Console sales share declined from 51% to 40%. This explains many recent decisions that Capcom has made, like bringing Monster Hunter Rise to PC ahead of Xbox and PlayStation. This also explains why Monster Hunter Wilds is launching on PC and consoles at the same time. Remember, Monster Hunter World came to PC long after its console release.
Clearly, Capcom is taking PC gaming seriously. That said, the company is not immune to PC-related issues. Dragon’s Dogma 2 has been updated several times to boost its PC performance, and even today, the game has issues. Even so, gone are the days when Capcom would release their PC games after their console versions or would simply avoid the PC platform entirely.

Next year is expected to be a big year for Capcom. The launch of Monster Hunter Wilds will be massive. This is especially true for PC, where Monster Hunter World still hits concurrent player peaks of over 65,000 daily.
