Rockstar lists Grand Theft Auto IV PS4 version – Remaster incoming?
Is Rockstar planning to remaster Grand Theft Auto IV for modern platforms?
A Reddit user, devonY7, has noticed that Grand Theft Auto IV now lists PlayStation 4 as one of the game’s supported platforms on Rockstar’s support page. This backs up existing rumours that Rockstar plans to re-release Grand Theft Auto IV on modern gaming platforms, including PS4, as new “Remastered” versions.
Rumour has it that Grand Theft Auto IV is getting the Red Dead Redemption treatment. This means that the game will be re-released on PlayStation 4 and 5, and may also be coming to Switch. Like Red Redemption, Rockstar will likely avoid making an Xbox One/Series version, as the game is already playable on those platforms through Xbox 360 backwards compatibility.
Like Red Dead Redemption, these new versions of GTA IV will only contain the game’s single-player versions. The game’s original multiplayer modes will not be part of this re-release. With this move, Rockstar will make another part of its back catalogue playable on modern gaming systems.

Rockstar has already removed mentions of Sony’s PS4 from the support page for Grand Theft Auto IV. Rockstar has neither confirmed nor denied that it is working on a GTA IV re-release. Re-releasing the game would introduce the game to new audiences and allow PlayStation users to replay the game without setting up their PlayStation 3 consoles.
