Nvidia RTX 50 SUPER series given Late Q1 to Q2 release timeframe

Nvidia’s RTX 50 SUPER launch may be later than expected

According to a new report from Benchlife.info, Nvidia is likely to launch its RTX 50 SUPER series of GPUs in late Q1 or early Q2 2025. This places the release of Nvidia’s GPUs far after CES 2025, and within the timeframe of GTC 2026.

It has been claimed that none of Nvidia’s AIB partners have received project notifications for new “SUPER” series GPUs. Without this information, launch timing will remain a mystery.

Nvidia’s RTX 50 SUPER series lineup is expected to see updates to its RTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5080 GPU models. All of these GPUs should receive 3GB GDDR7 memory upgrades, giving their SUPER series variants 50% more VRAM. This upgrade increases the RTX 5070 SUPER’s memory to 18GB. It also upgrades the RTX 5070 Ti SUPER and RTX 5080 SUPER to 24GB.

Alongside VRAM upgrades, Nvidia’s new SUPER series GPUs will feature clock speed increases, CUDA core count increases, or both. This will enable increased raw GPU compute alongside VRAM enhancements. These changes will necessitate an increase in GPU TGPs (power draw).

Is the RTX 50 SUPER series delayed?

If Nvidia has delayed the launch of its RTX 50 SUPER, it could be for several reasons. For starters, Nvidia could be waiting for an increase in 3GB GDDR7 memory supply. Furthermore, they may want to ensure that they have a sufficient supply to meet demand at launch. This could avoid the consumer frustration that surrounded Nvidia’s early RTX 50 launches last year.

Regardless, even if Nvidia has changed its timelines, the RTX 50 SUPER series isn’t delayed. Nvidia has not unveiled any official launch plans. As such, these new products cannot be delayed. If Nvidia wants to regain consumer goodwill, it will need to ensure that its RTX 50 SUPER launch isn’t marred with shortages and inflated prices.
