EA App ruins Battlefield 6 launch with “Missing content” bug
EA App users are unable to play Battlefield 6 due to a “missing content” bug
Battlefield 6 has arrived, and it has proven hugely popular. On Steam alone, the game has already hit a peak player count of over 747,000 players. Unfortunately, players of the game on the EA App are finding the game unplayable. Battlefield 6 has a “missing content” bug, and it’s preventing paying customers from playing their game.
Users playing the game’s campaign will be told that multiplayer is not installed, and multiplayer players will be told that the campaign is not installed. Game reinstallations are not fixing the issue, and some players are being told that they need to purchase DLC to access the game they already paid for.
EA has confirmed that they are investigating the issue. Currently, EA is testing a potential fix, hoping to roll it out as soon as possible. In the meantime, many EA App owners of the game are refunding their purchases and purchasing the game on Steam.
Update: Installation of Content
We believe we have found a possible cause for this issue. We are in the process of validating a potential fix and will provide an update when we have it. https://t.co/bqfubq6Szz

Leave it to EA to mess up Battlefield 6’s launch on their own launcher
Honestly, this kind of issue is not surprising for EA. There’s a reason why many PC gamers dislike the EA App, and why EA abandoned its prior “Origin” branding. Recently, EA has started launching all of its newest PC releases on Steam. If nothing else, that was an admission that EA knew its PC app was not good enough.
For now, many EA App users are successfully getting refunds for Battlefield 6 if they ask for them. These gamers are simply repurchasing Battlefield 6 on Steam. This allows them to play Battlefield 6 without waiting for EA to fix their version. Thanks to this issue, EA are losing money to Valve by preventing gamers from playing Battlefield 6 through their own launcher, and they only have themselves to blame.
