Treyarch refutes early Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 release rumours

No, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will not be releasing early

Following reports that Treyarch planned to launch Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 early, the studio has made it clear that the game will be released on November 14th. While the studio did not directly reference the rumours, it was made clear that Black Ops 7 would be releasing on November 14th, not November 7th.

In their latest Dev Talk (video embedded below), Treyarch said that Black Ops 7’s beta was the strongest in Call of Duty history, at least from an anti-cheating perspective. The game’s ROCOCHET Anti-Cheat system reportedly kept 99% of matches cheater-free, with cheaters being detected within three matches. Not bad, given how cheaters pride themselves on bypassing these anti-cheat systems.

Call of Duty is a series that has been hit hard by cheating tools. Black Ops 7’s strong anti-cheating measures are a good sign for the full game. However, it remains to be seen if these anti-cheating measures will keep the game relatively cheat-free long-term.

Having games release early isn’t an uncommon occurrence, but that isn’t the case for Treyarch and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Game delays are often much more memorable. Furthermore, game releases are often moved a week or a month forward. That’s a lot less impactful than 3-month to year-long game delays.
