AMD shows new CPU roadmap at Financial Analyst Day
AMD’s Zen 6 CPUs will support new AI data types and feature more AI pipelines
At their 2025 Financial Analyst Day, AMD unveiled a new CPU roadmap detailing its upcoming Zen 6 and Zen 7 CPU architectures. Sadly, AMD has not unveiled much information about its next-generation processors. However, AMD has confirmed that Zen 6 was TSMC’s first 2nm product. Additionally, AMD confirmed that Zen 6 and Zen 7 will feature enhanced AI feature sets.
AMD has confirmed that Zen 6 products will launch in 2026. AMD has not unveiled the release date for Zen 7 on its new roadmap. With Zen 7, AMD claims that it will add a “new matrix engine” to its processors. Furthermore, Zen 7 will feature new AI data formats and use a “next-generation” lithography node.
Since AMD’s financial analyst day is primarily focused on the company’s growth areas, it has emphasised AI performance over traditional performance metrics. AMD will reveal more about Zen 6 when its next-generation products get closer to launch.

AMD has claimed that CPU performance has become more critical in the era of AI, not less important. AI is not taking workloads away from CPUs; it is making CPU performance more important. For this reason, AMD foresees a lot of growth for its Zen processor family.
AMD’s Financial Analysts Day is ongoing. So we may hear more information about Zen 6 later in the event. We may update this article with this information later, or write an additional article on the subject.
