MSI Claw confirms performance boost with Xbox Full Screen Experience
MSI confirms Xbox Full Screen Experience performance gains with its Claw handhelds
MSI has confirmed that all of its Claw-series PC gaming handhelds now support Windows 11’s “Xbox Full-Screen Experience”. With this update, gamers can utilise the Xbox Full Screen Experience to access all of their games with ease. Furthermore, this feature promises performance gains for PC gamers and an increased battery life.
By disabling unnecessary features, the Xbox Full Screen Experience reduces Windows 11’s RAM usage and power/performance requirements. That frees up more memory and power for gaming, enabling higher framerates and more efficient operation.
Lower RAM usage, higher gaming framerates
MSI claims that the Xbox Full Screen Experience allows its Claw handhelds to use 5% less RAM than a traditional Windows desktop. Above, we can see that it frees up 800MB of RAM. That’s a lot of extra usable memory for 16GB PC handhelds.
Below, we can see the performance impact of the Windows Full Screen Experience on MSI Claw handhelds. MSI has documented performance gains of 6.3-8.9% in Cyberpunk 2077, depending on the MSI Claw model used.

The Xbox Fullscreen Experience is a massive win for PC gamers. It wastes fewer resources on Windows things and focuses those resources on gaming. While power and memory-constrained PC handhelds will see the most considerable benefits, laptop and desktop PC users may also see performance benefits.
