Raspberry Pi confirms up to $60 price increases due to memory costs
Raspberry Pi blames AI infrastructure for its latest round of price increases
Less than two months after its last round of memory-related price increases, Raspberry Pi has announced it must further increase the cost of its high-memory products. For its flagship 16GB Raspberry Pi models, pricing will increase by $60. For its 1GB memory products, Raspberry Pi have been able to maintain its current pricing.
Raspberry Pi have blamed the price increase on “AI infrastructure roll-out”. This has already seen the cost of consumer PCs and DRAM kits skyrocket. Standard 32GB DDR5 memory kits have already seen their prices increase by over 300%. Simply put, Raspberry Pi cannot absorb these costs, so they must be passed on to consumers.
Two months ago, we announced increases to the prices of some Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 products. These were driven by an unprecedented rise in the cost of LPDDR4 memory, thanks to competition for memory fab capacity from the AI infrastructure roll-out.
Price rises have accelerated as we enter 2026, and the cost of some parts has more than doubled over the last quarter. As a result, we now need to make further increases to our own pricing, affecting all Raspberry Pi 4 and 5, and Compute Module 4 and 5, products that have 2GB or more of memory.

Price increases impact Raspberry Pi 4/5 models and Compute Module 4/5 models with more than 1GB of RAM. The Raspberry Pi 500 and 500+ mini PCs are also affected.
Thanks to the company’s large inventory of LPDDR2 memory, Raspberry Pi will not change the prices of its Raspberry Pi Zero, Raspberry Pi 3, and other older products. The company believes it has “several years” of LPDDR2 inventory left.

Raspberry Pi sees today’s memory prices as “temporary”, though it expects 2026 to be a challenging year. When DRAM prices decrease, Raspberry Pi plans to lower its prices again.
Looking ahead
2026 looks likely to be another challenging year for memory pricing, but we are working hard to limit the impact. We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again: the current situation is ultimately a temporary one, and we look forward to unwinding these price increases once it abates.
