Nvidia confirms “Spring” release for DLSS Dynamic Frame Generation

DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Frame Generation will be released in “Spring”

At a recent event, an Nvidia representative reportedly stated that its DLSS Dynamic Frame Generation technology would be released in “April”. Since then, Nvidia has stated that this was a “misunderstanding”, reconfirming that DLSS Dynamic Frame Generation would be released this “Spring”.

At the event, NVIDIA confirmed spring as the release window for Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation 6x. While April was mentioned once, this was reportedly a misunderstanding.

DLSS Dynamic Frame Generation proves that higher isn’t always better

Maximising framerates isn’t always a good thing, especially when it comes to Frame Generation. Ideally, frame generation is a technology that increases visual smoothness and clarity. With that being the case, there is no reason to push frame rates beyond your monitor’s maximum refresh rate.

With DLSS Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation, Nvidia can dynamically adjust your frame generation multiplier to get closer to your screen’s maximum refresh rate (or whatever framerate target you have chosen).

If your framerate is below its target, the multiplier is increased to get closer to your screen’s maximum refresh rate. If real framerates increase, your frame generation multiplier can decrease to improve image quality. This technology can deliver better frame pacing and more consistent framerates.

While 6x frame generation can deliver higher framerates, there’s no point in generating frames that you will never see. Note that with Dynamic Frame Generation, Nvidia can deliver the highest frame rates your screen supports and improve frame pacing/ frame consistency.

Support for hundreds of games at launch

All games that support DLSS Frame Generation will support Dynamic Frame Generation through DLSS Overrides on the Nvidia App. Support for this feature will arrive in “Spring 2026” for all RTX 50 series GPU owners.
