AMD unveils its high-performance AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition CPU
AMD officially unveils its Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition CPU
AMD has today announced its Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition CPU, the company’s first-ever consumer-grade CPU featuring 3D V-Cache across all CPU chiplets. This CPU has 192MB of total L3 cache. This accelerates the performance of many workloads by keeping more data on chip, reducing latencies, and keeping demanding workloads responsive.
Imagine a Ryzen 7 9850X3D, but two of them. That’s basically the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition in a nutshell. Sixteen CPU cores across two chiplets, all of which have access to AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology. AMD has confirmed that this CPU will be available on April 22nd and is intended for professional users.
Introducing the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition processor, powered by 2nd Gen AMD 3D V-Cache technology across dual CCDs, built for creators and developers who demand performance without compromise.
Expanded on-chip memory helps reduce latency and keep demanding workflows responsive, from complex timelines and large datasets to parallel builds and simulations.

Compared with the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, AMD’s new X3D2 Dual Edition GPU can complete many complex workloads faster. Below, we can see performance gains of 5-13%. Note that AMD has not provided data comparing the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition to its non-X3D Ryzen 9 9950X.
Currently, AMD has not unveiled the MSRP of its new Dual X3D Ryzen CPU. Given its use of an additional L3 V-Cache element, we expect it to cost more than today’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D. We expect to hear more about this new AMD Ryzen CPU in the near future.
