Scalpers target Valve’s Steam Controller – Sells out in minutes
Valve’s Steam Controller has been targeted by Scalpers
Valve’s Steam Controller was released yesterday, and it didn’t take long for it to sell out worldwide. To the surprise of no one, the controller has started popping up on eBay, with sellers trying to take advantage of Valve’s limited stock of its new PC-optimised gamepad. Scaplers have targeted Valve’s Steam Controller.
On Steam, the new Steam Controller sold for £85. Today, listings for the controller on eBay are selling for prices between £140 and £200. In the US, listing prices of up to $300 are online. Note that the Steam Controller costs $99 in the US.

This is not the first time that Valve hardware has been the target of scalpers. When Valve launched the Steam Deck, it was unable to meet demand for its PC gaming handheld. This led to many listings on reseller sites like eBay selling the sought-after hardware at hugely inflated prices. The same was true for most game consoles during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sadly, it is unknown when Valve’s Steam Controller will be back in stock. If you weren’t lucky enough to grab a Steam Controller when it launched, you may have a long wait ahead of you.
