AMD unveils its Ryzen 7 7700X3D – Launches July 16th
AMD unveils its Ryzen 7 7700X3D at Computex 2026
At Computex 2026, AMD’s David McAfee lifted the veil on AMD’s Ryzen 7 7700X3D gaming CPU. This new Zen 4-powered X3D CPU option aims to make high-performance PC gaming more accessible on AMD’s AM5 motherboard platform, launching at $329.
This new CPU will become available globally on July 16th. Basically, this CPU is a slower, more affordable version of AMD’s Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and in the UK, we expect this CPU to be available for under £300.
AMD’s Ryzen 7 7700X3D features eight Zen 4 cores and 96 MB of L3 cache. The CPU reportedly has boost clock speeds of 4.5 GHz. That’s 10% slower than a Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is an exciting CPU in today’s PC market. It aims to be an excellent gaming-focused CPU option for PC builders. Yes, it’s slower than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Ryzen 7 9800X3D/9850X3D, but it could offer tremendous value. If nothing else, it could make high-performance PC gaming much more affordable on AMD’s AM5 platform. Given the current cost of DDR5 memory, anything that can reduce the cost of a gaming PC is good in today’s market.
