Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is coming to Netflix this year
Expect to see a new Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 trailer tomorrow
Netflix has officially confirmed that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is coming to Netflix in Fall 2026. A new teaser for the anime will debut tomorrow at 4:30 BST, giving fans a glimpse at what’s to come.
Edgerunners 2 will be a standalone story. The series will not continue the story of Netflix’s original Edgerunners series and will feature a new cast of characters that will be thrown into the darkest corners of Night City.
The new series has Kai Ikarashi as its director. He was behind episode 6 of the original series. Since that episode is often cited as the best in the series, Kai Ikarashi’s role in the second series has Edgerunners fans hyped.

Brought to you by CD PROJEKT RED and TRIGGER, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is directed by Kai Ikarashi (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, SSSS.Gridman), with Kanno Ichigo (Promare, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners) as the lead designer and Hugo Award winner Bartosz Sztybor as showrunner, story writer, and producer.

It is currently unknown where this series sits within the Cyberpunk timeline. The original series took place before the events of CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 video game. Will this new series do the same? If it takes place after Cyberpunk 2077, could it potentially set up the game’s sequel? Probably not. After all, CD Project Red has several new The Witcher games in development. That leaves little room for a new Cyberpunk game, at least for now.
