Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced becomes Steam Deck Verified ahead of launch

Steam Deck Verification is a solid sign of good PC performance

Ubisoft has just confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is now Steam Deck Verified, meaning the game will run well on Valve’s handheld gaming platform. That’s good news for all PC gamers, especially those using Linux/SteamOS.

Valve’s Steam Deck handheld isn’t that powerful, at least when compared to all modern desktop gaming PCs. If Valve can achieve stable performance levels on its low-powered handheld, users of modern gaming desktops should be able to run the game with ease. Sadly, Valve and Ubisoft did not confirm the framerates they achieved in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on Steam Deck. We suspect that this means that the game will run at 30 FPS on Valve’s gaming handheld.

Note that Steam Deck Verified games are also Steam Machine Verified. At its core, Valve’s Steam Machine uses the same underlying software as their Steam Deck alongside AMD Ryzen/Radeon CPU and graphics hardware. Simply put, if a game runs on Steam Deck, it will run better on a Steam Machine.

In case you missed the headline, we’re so excited to tell you that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is going to be Steam Deck Verified at launch! That’s right, our teams have worked hard to make sure that the game is not only playable in as many places as possible but looks and plays great from PC to handheld.

On Steam, Black Flag Resynced will have access to Steam Achievements and Steam Collectables on day-1. This includes Steam trading cards, profile backgrounds, badges, and emoticons.

Black Flag Resynced will be coming to PC and consoles next week on July 9th. Expect a full PC performance analysis for the game from us when the game launches.
