Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced surpasses yearly sales target in two weeks
Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced sold over 3.5 million copies in 14 days
Ubisoft has confirmed in a new financial report that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has sold over 3.5 million units. The game has greatly exceeded Ubisoft’s sales expectations, achieving the game’s year-long sales target within its first 14 days.
We’ve reviewed the PC version of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced (see here). The game looks and runs great on PC, and the new Resynced additions deliver improved gameplay and increased depth in the remake. New story and gameplay elements elevate the game past the original Black Flag, giving owners of the original and newcomers a good reason to buy the remake.
Black Flag Resynced’s success is great news for Ubisoft. The publisher has been facing financial issues in recent years, making the success of Black Flag Resynced critical for the publisher. Ubisoft has surpassed its yearly sales expectations within weeks. Better still, these sales were around the game’s launch at full price. Ubisoft’s original sales forecast likely accounted for post-launch sales, where Black Flag Resynced may be significantly discounted.

Can Ubisoft replicate Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’s success?
While Black Flag Resynced has secured strong sales, it remains to be seen if Ubisoft can continue to deliver successful games. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is a classic. If any Ubisoft remake was going to be successful, it was Black Flag Resynced. Can Ubisoft continue with this momentum? Can other Ubisoft remakes achieve similar levels of success? Will Ubisoft’s new games be able to achieve this level of success?
Ubisoft’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, has confirmed that Black Flag Resynced is the “highest-rated Assassin’s Creed title since the original Black Flag”. If that’s true, can any other Assassin’s Creed remakes achieve similar levels of success? Ubisoft will have a hard time replicating this success in the future. That said, it would be great if they could. Black Flag Resynced is excellent.
