ASRock unveils new AMD RDNA 4 GPU – Meet the Radeon RX 9050 4/8GB
ASRock’s website lists new AMD RDNA 4 graphics cards
ASRock has updated its website to include two new, unannounced AMD RDNA 4 graphics cards. These new GPU models are low-end RDNA 4 GPU variants, sitting below AMD’s RX 9060 and RX 9060 XT. Videocardz were the first to spot these GPU listings, confirming 4GB and 8GB GPU variants.
Both of these new GPU models feature 16 compute units (CUs), giving each GPU 1024 stream processors. This gives these GPUs half as many stream processors as AMD’s RX 9060 XT. The GPU also appears to have an 8GB model and a 4GB model. These models feature a 128-bit and 64-bit memory bus, respectively. With its 64-bit memory bus, this GPU’s 4GB model will have half the memory bandwidth of its 8GB counterpart.
These new graphics cards feature AMD’s full RDNA 4 GPU feature set. This includes 3rd-generation RT cores, 2nd-generation AI accelerators, and PCIe 5.0 connectivity.

On ASRock’s website, both GPU models are listed as “Challenger” series GPUs. Note that the 4GB model’s listing appears incomplete, lacking any GPU images. Given this model’s appallingly small frame buffer (many PC gamers already consider 12GB to small for modern GPUs), it is possible that this GPU model will not be available outside of the OEM GPU market.

Both of ASRock’s RX 9050 Challenger models feature two DisplayPort connections and one HDMI output. Both GPUs also utilise a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. It is currently unknown if AMD plans to release this GPU widely, or if this GPU model will be exclusive to OEMs and system integrators.
