Intel’s next-gen LGA1954 CPU socket is already purchasable through AliExpress

LGA1954, the CPU socket for Intel Nova Lake, is now available to purchase as a component from AliExpress. The socket is made by Foxconn and is “solder ready” for next-generation motherboards.

While the socket is useless on its own, it confirms that Intel’s partners should be ready to mass-produce next-generation motherboards. Why else would there be so many spare LGA1954 sockets lying around?

This new socket should be used with new Intel 900-series motherboards, and will reportedly support several Intel product generations. According to a recently leaked Intel roadmap, this socket will support Intel’s Nova Lake, Razor Lake, and Hammer Lake products.

LGA1954 motherboards will also reportedly support PCIe 5.0 connectivity, not PCIe 6.0, and boast overclocking controls across more of its lineup than prior generations. Intel’s new Nova Lake CPUs are due to enter mass production in Q4 2026, making a Q1 2027 launch seem likely for Nova Lake and its accompanying motherboards.

While these standalone Intel LGA1954 sockets from AliExpress are useless for consumers, they will be handy for motherboard repairs and manufacturing. Sadly, the listing doesn’t detail the socket’s dimensions, so it is unclear how large Intel’s next-generation socket will be. That said, it is expected to be notably larger than LGA1851 and LGA1700.
