Corsair teases transparent HX1000i Shift Crystal PSU

Corsair’s making a transparent PSU – Here’s what we know

Corsair has started to tease a new power supply called the “HX1000i SHIFT CRYSTAL”, with the company stating that “more details are coming soon, we promise”. The PSU is a new variant of Corsair’s HX1000i Shift that features a transparent casing. This lets users see the PSU’s inner workings.

Note that these changes don’t appear to be limited to the clear “Crystal” case. Corsair’s images of this new PSU suggest it will feature an ARGB-illuminated fan. Corsair may also have altered the PSU’s internal layout or components to improve its aesthetic appeal. Note that Corsair’s Crystal series PSU features white PCBs and a white fan.

If this PSU is like Corsair’s HX1000i Shift, it will be a Cybenetics Platinum-rated PSU with side-mounted “Shift” connectors and and integrated Corsair iCUE Link hub.

Corsair’s standard HX1000i Shift already costs £219.90, and I’d guess that this new “Crystal” variant will cost more. Corsair says “more details are coming soon”, so we expect to hear more about this power supply in the near future. I wonder if other “Crystal” series Corsair products are also in the works.
