Be Quiet announces free AM4 upgrade kits for their CPU coolers

Be Quiet releases their Pure Rock Slim CPU Cooler

Be Quiet announces free AM4 upgrade kits for their CPU coolers

Last month we confirmed that AMD’s AM4 platform would not support existing cooling solutions. This is because AMD has changed their CPU socket mounting solution, with the new socket using a 90mm x 54mm mounting solution instead of AMD’s traditional AM3 96mm x 48mm mounting solution.

While AMD’s mounting solution may be different, AMD has confirmed that all coolers that are compatible with AMD’s retention module will be Ryzen/AM4 compatible, though any cooler that uses AMD’s mounting holes will require and adapter/ or cooler upgrade.

Be Quiet has announced that they will be offering free AM4 upgrade kits for their CPU coolers, which will help their users to prepare for AMD’s upcoming Ryzen series of CPUs.

All be quiet! CPU coolers that can currently be mounted to the AMD retention module already support socket AM4 CPUs, including the Pure Rock, Pure Rock Slim and Shadow Rock LP coolers.

Customers using other current be quiet! back plate mounted coolers will be provided the upgrade kit without additional costs. Starting January 9, 2017, the upgrade kit will be available for order free of charge from the service team using an online form on the be quiet! website**. AM4 upgrade kits will be available for the Dark Rock 3, Dark Rock Pro 3, Dark Rock TF, Shadow Rock 2 and Shadow Rock Slim coolers.

In addition, be quiet! offers a free AM4 mounting bridge for customers who purchased the recently released Silent Loop all-in-one water cooling system. These will also be made available for order on the be quiet! website as of January 9, 2017**.

As 2017 marches on Be Quiet will be releasing coolers which come with AMD AM4 mounting kits at stock, many of which will simply be a new revision of Be Quiet’s existing designs.
