EK releases its second-generation QuantumX Delta TEC water block

EK has just launched a new and improved version of their QuantumX Delta Thermoelectric Cooling water block, a cooling solution that’s designed to get the most performance out of Intel’s 10th and 11th generation core processors.

These water blocks are designed to use Intel’s Cryo Cooling Technology, using a combination of hardware, software and firmware optimisations that are only present on Intel’s latest CPUs and motherboards. Sadly, this makes EK’s QuantumX Delta TEC cooler an Intel-only product, leaving AMD users behind.

What’s new with EK’s new second-generation QuantumX Delta model is that it offers users a 50W increase in TEC cooling power and features a TEC cooling plate that is now soldered to the base of EK’s water block. These design features increase the maximum cooling potential of EK’s included TEC solution and improves the thermal conductivity of their QuantumX Delta design.

EK’s latest TEC design should allow their buyers to achieve lower thermals with Intel’s 10th generation and 11th generation processors while greatly enhancing the overall cooling efficiency of their QuantumX Delta design. Like its predecessor, EK has designed their QuantumX Delta TEC to mitigate condensation risks, enabling sub-ambient cooling by isolating and insulating exposed cold surfaces.

The downsides of EK solution is shared by all TEC cooling setups, as thermoelectric coolers require power to transfer heat. This increases the power consumption of systems using thermoelectric coolers. With an MSRP of €379.95, EK’s second-generation QuantumX cooler is not a suitable cooling solution for the masses.

PR – EK-QUANTUMX DELTA TEC ENTERS 2ND GENERATION MORE POWERFUL THAN EVER

EK, the leading computer cooling solutions provider, releases the 2nd generation of its EK-QuantumX Delta TEC extreme cooling water block. With more than 15 years of experience as a leader in premium-quality cooling solutions, EK, in collaboration with Intel, has developed a next-generation solution for enthusiasts seeking consistent system performance and ultimate overclocking on unlocked 11th and 10th Gen Intel Core desktop processors.

The EK-QuantumX Delta TEC EVO brings further improvements to the design, most notably an even more powerful TEC plate allowing over 50 W of additional cooling power. The TEC plate is now soldered to the bottom of the water block that goes over the CPU, improving contact and transfer of cooling to the block and eventually the CPU. It is exclusively powered by the Intel Cryo Cooling Technology, a unique combination of hardware, software, and firmware designed to help unleash elite performance for gamers and overclockers.

This unique cooler is made for maximum performance and frequencies during heavy load on a single core or lighter loads across more cores. It is not made for software that does heavy synthetic load across all cores, like the Prime95 series stress tests.

The EK-QuantumX Delta TEC EVO is built using a purpose-designed large-surface flow-through cooling engine together with the Intel Cryo Cooling Technology, bridging aesthetic uniformity and near-silent operation with technological advancements in thermal solutions. The cooler is an exceptional application of cooling the CPU with sub-ambient temperatures by utilizing a Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) plate while continuously monitoring and adjusting temperatures dynamically, achieving an ideal operating environment for sustained gaming performance.

Liquid coolers are unable to reach temperatures below ambient (room) temperature, but the EK-QuantumX Delta TEC EVO is cutting-edge technology, as it actively cools the CPU to sub-ambient temperatures while extracting and dissipating the heat generated from the TEC plate through the traditional liquid cooling loop.

The EK-QuantumX Delta TEC EVO utilizes an innovative two-pronged approach to mitigate thermal condensation, a byproduct that has plagued previous attempts of sub-ambient cooling. The cooler features a compact integrated insulation shroud that isolates all exposed cold surfaces from the environmental conditions inside the PC, while the Intel Cryo Cooling Technology continuously monitors and adapts to those conditions to minimize condensation risk generated by the cooling process.

The controller unit can be mounted on the water block, or offset somewhere else, where it’s not visible.
