Lian Li reveals their Alpha 550 chassis

There has always been a market for large PC cases, whether it is to support large EATX motherboards, colossal water cooling loops or a plethora of storage drives.

With the Alpha 550, Lian Li wants to service the EATX motherboard extreme water cooling crowd, with dedicated pump mounting locations and room for up to a 420mm radiator at the front and a 360mm radiator at the top of the chassis. Storage-wise this chassis is also no slouch, with four 3.5/2.5-inch drive bays and three dedicated 2.5-inch drive bays. While this isn’t enough HDD space for large home server, it is more than enough for your average workstation.

Integrated into this chassis is three Bora 120mm fans and integrated RGB LED strips within the enclosure. The Alpha 550 comes with a radio frequency controller to allow the PC to be controlled from anywhere with line of sight. The front, top and both of the Alpha 550’s side panels are made from 4mm thick tempered glass, giving users a crystal clear viewport into the system inside, requiring users to be careful with their cable management. The chassis also ships with a single non-RGB fan in the rear.

The Alpha 550 comes in both black and white, with a net weight of 13.2 kg. The case offers a total of 8 PCIe slots and a two-slot vertical GPU mount, all of which supports GPUs that are up to 420mm in length.

Beneath the case’s hidden front I/O panel there are two USB 3.0 ports, a single USB 3.1 Type-C connection, audio in/out jacks and a power button.
