AMD reconfirms that Zen 3 is coming later this year

AMD’s Ryzen 3000XT processors have just become available onto the CPU market, but that doesn’t mean that the folks over at AMD have time to stand still and relax. Zen 3 is coming, and it is due to become available later this year. This was confirmed by a new video address from AMD’s CEO, Lisa Su.

The Ryzen 3000XT series expands on the success of AMD’s Zen 2 CPU cores, offering users the best possible Zen 2 experience. Lisa Su says that AMD remains on a “journey to push the highest performance that we can for our users and our fans”, which means that AMD is still marching forward and that the fruits of AMD’s latest efforts will be seen “later this year”.

According to Su, AMD’s Zen 3 processors are “looking great in the labs” and are “on track for launch later this year”. So far, AMD has not discussed what improvements will be delivered with Zen 3, though a major cache redesign and single-threaded performance increases are expected.

Within the video below, Lisa Su has also confirmed that an AMD fan has called one of their children Ryzen, which is a testament to the passion of the company’s fanbase.
