AMD is about to experience the company’s 50th Anniversary and to celebrate this momentous occasion the CPU/GPU manufacturer plans to release limited edition versions of some of their high-end products.

On the CPU side, AMD plans to launch a 50th Anniversary Edition version of their Ryzen 7 2700X processor, which ships with 50th-anniversary golden packaging and a processor which ships with a laser etched signature of AMD’s CEO, Lisa Su.

Aside from AMD’s revamped packaging and signature edition CPU IHS, the Ryzen 7 2700X is the same as any other boxed edition of the processor, shipping with the same clock speeds as before and the same AMD Wraith Prism CPU cooler. At this time the pricing of AMD’s Ryzen 7 2700X is unknown, though it is likely to be higher than standard retail editions of the processor.

Rumour has it that AMD also plans to release a 50th-anniversary version of the company’s high-end Radeon VII graphics card, with leaked images suggesting that the GPU will ship with a red cooler shroud and other aesthetic changes. Hardware-wise the Radeon VII will be functionally the same as AMD’s reference model.
