EVGA reveals three new X299 motherboards

With the release of X299 comes a wide range of CPU products, stretching from 4-cores all the way to 18. With this comes the need for strong motherboards, but also boards for both extra-large and ultra compact PC configuration.

EVGA is hoping to shine this generation with the release of their new X299 lineup, which right now only comes with three different offerings, but offers enough versatility to give consumers exactly what they wish, from large ultra-overclocking motherboards like the EATX X299 Dark to the compact MATX X299 Micro.

Below we can see the flagship of EVGA’s X299 range, the X299 Dark, coming with dual 8-pin EPS power connectors, only four DDR4 DIMM slots and a PCB design that has been designed from the ground up for overclocking.

This board comes with support for triple BIOS, which will allow this motherboard to easily survive a corrupted BIOS with two layers of redundancy. This motherboard can support up to 4-way SLI and comes with a robust VRM and M.2 cooling solution, which is designed to keep both motherboard and M.2 storage components cool, even while overclocking.

EVGA states that this motherboard can cope with DDR4 memory with clock speeds of up to 4133MHz, though note that Kaby Lake-X users will only be able to use two out of this motherboard’s 4 DIMM slots.

This motherboard will also come with dual Intel Gigabit NICs, support for up to three M.2 devices, dual U.2 ports and a total of 8 SATA ports.

Moving down the EVGA’s X299 FTW K, we can see that it also offers a lot of the same features as the overclocking oriented DARK motherboard, coming with dual Gigabit NICs (1x Intel and 1x Killer E2500), support for dual U.2 ports, three M.2 slots and 8 SATA 3.0 connections.

This motherboard will also come with eight total DIMM slots, with the capability of supporting up to 128GB of RAM. This motherboard will also feature dual BIOS support and RGB illumination on the rear IO cover and chipset heatsink.

At the lower end of EVGA’s X299 product stack is the Ultra-compact X299 Micro, which will come with only a single 8-pin EPS power connection and only 4 DDR4 DIMM slots, a single U.2 port, a standard 80mm M.2 slot and a vertical M.2 slot.

There is no mention of RGB support on this product, which means that it is likely an all-black design.
