Ryzen Threadripper will release this summer

The company has also confirmed that all Threadripper CPU will come with quad channel memory support and a total of 64 PCIe lanes, which means that unlike Intel AMD will not be taking away PCIe lanes from lower end Threadripper SKUs.

This will allow Threadripper to be able to use up to four GPUs with full PCIe 3.0 16x bandwidth, something that is impossible on Intel’s Skylake-X platforms, which maxes out at 44 PCIe 3.0 lanes. 

  

 

AMD has also shown their upcoming Ryzen Threadripper CPU, which will come in a huge TR4 form factor for X399 chipset motherboards, with a size that easily dwarfs both Ryzen and Intel’s Skylake-X offerings. 

  

 

AMD has not released any firm specifications or pricing for Ryzen Threadripper, though this information is expected to be released soon as we approach the CPU’s launch window.
