AMD’s X570 chipset released in mid-2019, offering Ryzen users a slew of advanced features on the company’s AM4 platform. Now, over six months later, AMD still hasn’t released a lower-end 500-series chipset, forcing consumers to rely on existing 300-series and 400-series motherboards and BIOS updates.

Now, twelve B550 motherboards have been listed by the EEC, a discovery which was made by @_rogame on Twitter. AMD’s B550 chipset is expected to be a lower-end AM4 chipset which features support for PCIe 4.0, bringing the feature to more affordable motherboards.

Gigabyte has submitted a list of twelve B550 motherboards to the Eurasian Economic regulatory office, revealing six planned Aorus motherboard models, two new Gaming models and four other mainboard models. Judging by Gigabyte’s naming scheme, six of these motherboards will be MATX offerings and one of these motherboards, the B550I Aorus Pro AX, will be Mini ITX.
