Acer has unveiled a range of new monitors at IFA 2018, showcasing the company’s new Nitro branding as well as the world’s first 4K 144Hz FreeSync display.

Nitro series monitors will all feature AMD’s FreeSync technology, with Acer maintaining their Predator brand for their G-Sync complaint counterparts. The flagship of this new FreeSync lineup is Acer’s XV273K, which is a 27-inch DisplayHDR 400 compliant monitor which uses an IPS panel to deliver an ultra-wide colour gamut which supports 90% of the DCI-P3 colour space.

In their press release, Acer has not listed their XV273K as a FreeSync 2 monitor, which means one of two things. One, that it didn’t pass AMD’s FreeSync 2 certification process or that Acer has not submitted their display for FreeSync 2 accreditation yet.

This monitor also has a G-Sync enabled counterpart, the Predator XB273K, which ships with Acers premium predator stand and a higher price tag. Acer’s Predator XB273K will cost €1499 in Europe, whereas the FreeSync Nitro €1049.
