In the world of competitive gaming, refresh rates often trumps resolution, with faster, less latent screens providing gamers with the advantages they need to best their opponents.

Today, we have some information on ASUS’ TUF Gaming VG279QM monitor, a Full HD 280Hz monitor which features an IPS display panel and support for Adaptive-Sync, which is supported by both AMD and Nvidia.

One of the killer features of this display is its support for both Adaptive-Sync and Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) concurrently, which allows blur reduction and variable refresh rates to be used at the same time. This is rare amongst adaptive-sync compatible displays, and a key feature of ASUS’ TUF series.

This information comes via TFT Central, who spotted this screen over on Taobao. ASUS’ TUF Gaming VG279QM features VESA’s DisplayHDR 400 certification, a 1ms MPRT response time and support for both HDMI 2.0 (2x) and DisplayPort 1.2 (x1) connections. The display also supports Aura Sync RGB lighting. At this time the US/European pricing and release date of this monitor are unknown.
