EVGA Reveals the clock speeds of their RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti XC Gaming GPUs

When Nvidia revealed their RTX series of Turing graphics cards, the company challenged their AIB partners, deciding to no longer shackle their Founders Edition with blower-style cooling solutions, instead opting to release their Founders Edition graphics cards with a large vapour chamber and a dual-fan cooling system.

Nvidia’s changes to their Founders Edition graphics cards also extended to their GPU’s clock speeds, with Nvidia opting to release their Founders Edition graphics cards with a “overclock”, extending the performance of their in-house RTX 20 series graphics cards beyond their “reference” design. More information about this change is available here.

With this move, Nvidia boldly stated that they could make graphics cards that could rival their AIB partners, while also introducing the possibility for AIB cards to offer less performance than Nvidia’s Founders Edition.

So far, AIBs like MSI, ASUS and Gigabyte have shied away from releasing the clock speeds of their custom RTX models, but now EVGA has officially revealed the boost clock speeds of their RTX 2080/2080 Ti XC and XC Ultra series GPUs. These models act as EVGA’s basic RTX 2080/2080 Ti offerings, with FTW3 and Hydro series models sitting further up their graphics card product stack.

Below are the official specifications of EVGA’s RTX XC and XC Ultra series graphics cards, which most of you will note are incredibly close to Nvidia’s Founders Edition models, despite their price premium.

EVGA Reveals the clock speeds of their RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti XC Gaming GPUs
When looking at EVGA’s RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti XC and XC Ultra series graphics cards, it appears as if they will offer similar performance levels to Nvidia’s Founders Edition models. Perhaps cooling performance and GPU Boost 4.0 will have an impact on overall performance levels, but on paper it appears that Nvidia’s RTX Founders Edition models are highly competitive offerings.
