Nvidia quietly adds DirectX 12 support to their Fermi-based GPUs
This support is DirectX 12 feature level 11_0, which is the lowest level of DirectX 12 support, though this is more than enough to allow older Fermi GPU to run DirectX 12 gaming titles. That being said, these older GPUs will likely have difficulty running some newer titles.Â
With new drivers, Nvidia’s Fermi-based GTX 400 and 500 series of GPU can now run DirectX 12 applications, as can be shown below with this 3DMARK Time Spy score using a GTX 470.Â
