Oculus has confirmed that their Oculus Rift + Touch VR bundle will return to a new price of $499 after the company’s “Summer or Rift” promotion ends, though this new bundle will lack certain accessories that are available with the headset today.

This new bundle will be $100 more expensive than today’s “Summer of Rift” sale bundle and will lack the Xbox One Gamepad and the Oculus Remote that comes with every Oculus Rift headset today. This is how Oculus is lowering the price of their Rift Headset, though they will also be adding a large selection of software with their new Rift+Touch bundle.

It looks like Oculus plans are to remove standalone Oculus Rift headsets from the market with their “Summer of Rift” bundle, with plans to replace it with a boxed Oculus + Touch bundle, removing what Oculus see as unnecessary accessories to reduce the cost of this new bundle.

For the next six weeks, the Oculus Rift + Touch bundle will remain at a price of $399, which translates to £399 in the UK including VAT. Today’s Bundle includes an Xbox One gamepad and an Oculus Remote.
