Corsair announce their semi-waterproof K68 keyboard

We have all accidentally spilled drinks and many PC users know the heartache that can be caused by spilling a liquid over your favourite keyboard. Yes, there are waterproof keyboards, but none of them uses real mechanical switches, making most of them feel unsatisfying to type on.

Corsair has now announced their new K68 keyboard, which comes with a special modification that will make the keyboard both dust-proof and spill resistant, utilising a specialised rubber gasket to catch any spilled liquids or dust that gathers between your keys.

While this keyboard will not stand up well underwater submersion, these design changes do prevent the keyboard from sustaining damage from spilled liquids, with the gasket preventing liquids from getting into or under your Cherry MX key switches.

Sadly like most pre- Computex announcements, Corsair has been light on specific details, though it seems like this keyboard will only be sold with Cherry MX red and blue key switches and with single colour blue or red LEDs. Pricing wise this keyboard is expected to sit between the K65 and K70.
