Shapeways, a global 3D Printing marketplace for creators, has announced that they will be partnering with Valve to allow the store’s community to create and sell merchandise based on Valve’s games and hardware.

This will allow Valve fans to create and sell items that are based on Valve games, assets and even create upgrades/mods for Valve’s hardware like the Steam Controller and Steam Link.

Creators will also be able to promote or advertise their creations outside of the Shapeways store. Creators will need to license their items and give Valve 10% of the revenue from creations, though accessories for Steam Hardware will not require any form of revenue sharing.

We’re incredibly excited to announce that, thanks to a first-of-its-kind program, Valve and Shapeways are partnering up to empower our communities of creators to make and sell 3D printed, gamer-created merchandise and accessories based on Valve’s games and hardware.
